CHRSD, together with 47 other Bangladeshi civil society organizations, has signed a joint statement expressing serious concerns about the draft amendments to the Cyber Security Act currently under consideration.
Specific concerns include:
- Vague definitions of "harmful content" that risk restricting legitimate journalism and civic advocacy
- Expanded surveillance powers without adequate judicial oversight
- Insufficient safeguards for whistleblowers reporting corruption
