ABOUT US

Centre for Humanitarian Research and Social Development Foundation

An independent, non-political, and non-profit organisation working at the intersection of environmental sustainability, evidence-based policy research, and community-centred development.

An independent force for lasting change

CHRSD is a multi-disciplinary foundation committed to protecting human rights, advancing social justice, and fostering institutional accountability. The foundation deploys GIS, satellite remote sensing, and biometric verification through a strategic consortium with Nevronus Systems to bring rigorous, technology-driven evidence to community development challenges across Bangladesh.

We operate across all 8 administrative divisions, with active field presence in 14 districts. Our work spans environmental conservation, digital governance, health, education, and rights-based advocacy — all grounded in peer-reviewed research and independently verified data.

Technology-enabled development at national scale

GIS & Remote Sensing

Every sapling planted under NSADMP is individually GIS-tagged and monitored via Sentinel-2 NDVI satellite imagery — giving us tree-level verification at national scale.

Biometric Verification

SDAMSMP uses biometric-verified attendance — bringing 379,624 teachers across 65,566+ government primary schools into a real-time digital accountability framework.

AI-Assisted Diagnostics

The AI Vision Care Initiative deploys computer vision diagnostics to screen 1.2 million RMG workers for uncorrected refractive errors — a low-cost, high-impact health intervention.

Independent Verification

All programme data is independently verified before publication. Field audits, third-party evaluation, and open-access reporting are non-negotiable standards at CHRSD.

Vision & Mission

Our Vision
"To build a greener, more climate-resilient, and digitally accountable nation, aligned with the 'Smart Bangladesh' framework."
Our Mission
"To empower vulnerable communities through investigative research, advocacy for rights-based laws, and the implementation of large-scale digital governance programmes that ensure transparency and professional accountability."

Integrated, evidence-driven solutions

01

Environmental Sustainability & Climate Resilience

National-scale afforestation, coastal plantation, and community-led conservation — all monitored through satellite and GIS technology to ensure verified, lasting impact.

02

Research, Innovation & Policy Development

Peer-reviewed socio-economic research on labour markets, climate vulnerability, and human rights — producing evidence that communities and policymakers can act on.

03

Community Engagement & Participation

Every programme is designed with, not for, the communities we serve. Free legal aid, community health screening, and participatory monitoring keep people at the centre.

04

Technology-Enabled Development

A strategic technology consortium with Nevronus Systems deploys GIS, biometric verification, AI diagnostics, and satellite monitoring across all flagship programmes.

Guided by four core values

Independent

Non-political and non-partisan. CHRSD accepts no funding that creates dependency or compromises programme integrity.

Rights-Based

Every programme is anchored in international human rights standards. Development that excludes the most marginalised is not development.

Collaborative

We partner with government ministries, international bodies, academia, civil society, and the private sector — because no single actor can solve systemic problems alone.

Accountable

Audited accounts, open-access evaluation reports, and independently verified programme data — published in full, every year.
