Membership is more than financial support — it is a formal affiliation with an institution committed to evidence, accountability, and community-centred development. Members help shape CHRSD's future.

More than a subscription

CHRSD is a membership organisation. Institutional Members attend our Annual General Meeting, vote on governance matters, and receive full financial accounts. This is accountability in both directions — we report to our members, and our members hold us to account.

All membership fees are unrestricted — they go directly into our programme funds, not into overhead or salaries. We publish a breakdown in our annual audited accounts.

Membership questions

How are membership fees used?
All membership fees are unrestricted and go directly into CHRSD's programme funds. They are not used for overhead or staff salaries. A full breakdown is published in our annual audited accounts, available to all members.
Is membership open to non-Bangladeshi individuals and organisations?
Yes. CHRSD welcomes international Associate Members and Patrons. Institutional Membership with AGM voting rights is subject to review for non-registered entities — please contact us to discuss your situation.
What is the difference between a member and a donor?
Donors contribute financially without formal organisational affiliation. Members are formally affiliated with CHRSD, receive governance rights (at Institutional level), and are listed in our Annual Report. Membership also carries accountability obligations in both directions — we report to members as well as to donors.
Can my membership be tax-deductible?
This depends on your jurisdiction. CHRSD is a registered NGO in Bangladesh. We recommend consulting your local tax authority or accountant regarding the deductibility of NGO membership fees in your country.
