The AI Vision Care Initiative deploys computer-vision diagnostics from Nevronus Systems, delivered in partnership with optical technology partner Lunera Eye Care and endorsed by the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
Screening at BGMEA-affiliated factories has surfaced uncorrected refractive errors above clinical threshold in 61.3% of surveyed operators, at a cost of BDT 1,100 per worker with an employer payback period of 4.8 months.
Program Objectives
Screen 1.2 million RMG workers for uncorrected refractive errors and provide corrective eyewear where clinically indicated.
