Membership is more than financial support — it is a formal affiliation with an institution committed to evidence, accountability, and community-centred development. Members help shape CHRSD's future.

Why membership matters

More than a subscription

CHRSD is a membership organisation. Institutional Members attend our Annual General Meeting, vote on governance matters, and receive full financial accounts. This is accountability in both directions — we report to our members, and our members hold us to account.

All membership fees are unrestricted — they go directly into our programme funds, not into overhead or salaries. We publish a breakdown in our annual audited accounts.

Frequently asked questions

Membership questions

How are membership fees used?

All membership income goes directly into CHRSD's programme funds, unrestricted. We do not use membership fees to cover senior salaries or overhead.

Is membership open to non-Bangladeshi individuals and organisations?

Yes. International members are welcome at all tiers. Fees can be paid in BDT or USD equivalent. Contact us for international payment arrangements.

What is the difference between a member and a donor?

Membership is a formal affiliation with CHRSD and includes governance participation rights (for Institutional Members and above). Donating is a financial contribution without formal membership status. You can do both.

Can my membership be tax-deductible?

CHRSD is registered as a non-profit organisation under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. Whether your membership fee is tax-deductible depends on your jurisdiction. Please consult your tax adviser.
