Our Vision
To build a greener, more climate-resilient, and digitally accountable nation, aligned with the “Smart Bangladesh” framework.
About the Foundation · Registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860
A multi-disciplinary foundation committed to protecting human rights, advancing social justice, and fostering institutional accountability across Bangladesh and globally.
Who we are
The Centre for Humanitarian Research and Social Development Foundation (CHRSD) is an independent, non-political, and non-profit organisation working at the intersection of environmental sustainability, evidence-based policy research, and community-centred development.
We operate as a multi-disciplinary foundation committed to protecting human rights, advancing social justice, and fostering institutional accountability — combining field evidence, technology-driven advocacy, and community action in every programme we run.
Smart approach · Digital transformation
In an era of rapid digital transformation, CHRSD bridges the gap between humanitarian expertise and cutting-edge technology.
Through our strategic consortium with Nevronus Systems, we deploy GIS, satellite remote sensing, and biometric verification so that every programme achieves measurable, verifiable impact.
Our direction
To build a greener, more climate-resilient, and digitally accountable nation, aligned with the “Smart Bangladesh” framework.
To empower vulnerable communities through investigative research, advocacy for rights-based laws, and the implementation of large-scale digital governance programmes that ensure transparency and professional accountability.
Four core pillars
CHRSD designs and delivers solutions that address environmental, social, and economic challenges through four interconnected areas of work.
Advancing afforestation, climate adaptation, ecosystem conservation, and nature-based solutions to strengthen resilience and protect biodiversity.
Producing rigorous, evidence-based research to inform public policy, including environmental and socio-economic impact assessments.
Empowering communities through grassroots mobilisation, capacity building, and inclusive stakeholder engagement for locally owned outcomes.
Applying digital tools — GIS monitoring, data analytics, and transparent reporting systems — to enhance efficiency, accountability, and measurable impact.
Strategic approach
These values are not aspirational — they are operational commitments embedded in every programme we run.
We operate free from political, religious, or external influence of any kind.
All initiatives are grounded in international human rights principles and frameworks.
We coordinate closely with government bodies, local administrations, and civil society.
We are committed to transparency, ethical data practices, and verifiable results.
What we do
Four primary thematic pillars — each backed by digital infrastructure, field evidence, and community ownership.
Leading the National Smart Afforestation & Digital Monitoring Program (NSADMP) to plant and digitally track 25 crore trees, securing high survival rates through satellite and GIS technology.
Implementing the Smart Digital Attendance Management System (SDAMSMP) to eliminate proxy attendance and strengthen teacher accountability across 65,000+ government primary schools.
Providing free legal assistance to the destitute, advocating against human trafficking, and conducting investigative research into corruption and financial crime.
Analysing labour-market dynamics to address unemployment and running anti-terror awareness campaigns that promote public safety and national cohesion.
CHRSD supports national development priorities through scalable, transparent, and data-driven interventions — guided by strong governance and a results-oriented approach.
